Even though we witnessed a significant increase in flight and passenger numbers in 2021, the last year was still under the pressure of COVID 19 pandemic. No matter how hard it was, TAV Technologies continued to develop new technological solutions for airports and extend its services in new regions. Our passion to prosper became the driving force behind this huge success. We achieved to grow by 23.1% in 2021 compared to 2020.
We are confident that our tendency to grow will continue much stronger in 2022 with our new sales and marketing structure that is designed to understand the customer expectations in detail. Our product managers, data engineers, software developers, system engineers, and project management experts are now much more equipped with technical skills to follow the latest trends in the aviation industry. Besides following these trends, TAV Technologies itself worked as a research and development hub and partnered with startups and significant universities from different countries to build brand new technologies. Our employees contributed to academic publishing with their innovative ideas, remarkable approaches, and great efforts on R&D projects.
We added new footprints to our customer portfolio, especially in Central Asia, GCC, and Turkey. Along with our proficiency in airport IT services, we invested in our software solutions to meet customer expectations more. Various airports in different regions such as Muscat International Airport, Aktobe International Airport, Gaziantep Airport started to use our airport operation software to ease their process and provide a seamless experience for their passengers. Plus, we also achieved to offer our services in Turkistan and Uzbekistan and many others have already decided to join our network and enjoy the best-in-class technology in aviation.
In line with our strategy to strengthen our capacity in software development, we are ambitious to increase our weight in airport operations and passenger and baggage processing systems. Ground handling suite (GHS) and Passenger Flow Management Platform have an important role in our growth strategy. We will focus on these products to offer excellent service to airports, ground handlers, and passengers.
We feel enthusiastic about the upcoming days in which we will demonstrate our expertise to a wider audience around the globe. Our appetite for innovation encourages us to offer solutions to new customers, focus on digitalization, and increase passenger satisfaction.
